The Casita Family

The Casita Family

Santiago Atitlán is full of creative sparks. While our designer was walking around town crafting the moodboard for the Pueblo collection, she stumbled upon a gem of a little home. This elusive casita was home to a mother and her three daughters who lived down an alleyway in the same neighborhood as Cojolya, called Cantón Tzanjuyu. Without a view of the lake but only a few blocks away from its shores, with Volcán San Pedro clothed in clouds and dark green foliage looming above, this family of women painted their house in the vibrant yellow and acqua captured in the Casita pattern. Through its innovative expressions of color, and a crisp combination of twisted threads and a thick Ottoman weft brocade, Casita is one of the most versatile textiles in Cojolya’s robust collection.
